Problem
While page builders like Wix are great for putting things online quickly, sometimes people are unaware these template designs aren’t necessarily good web design.
Such as responsive design because his website only looked good on desktops and not so good on mobile devices. Or things like readability, navigation, SEO.. the list goes on.

Solution
We agreed it didn’t have to be a complicated project, and decided to build a one page website to replace his DIY website entirely.
It didn’t need any content management software like WordPress because the content would be static. This means the content isn’t going to change again once I wrote the content and uploaded the website.
The project would be simple and straightforward.
Using plain HTML, CSS and Javascript, I built a one page design that used a parallax script to handle the smooth image scrolling.
At the time I didn’t yet know Sass, but understood CSS well enough to make sure it looked nice on all devices. I mostly used styling from Bootstrap, so I didn’t need to worry about fine-tuning typography and design elements like lists.
The client didn’t need a big budget website for something like this and I worked as such, using open source software and libraries as not to reinvent the wheel.
The property sold a month later!
